"PIRATES IN BIG STAGE SHOW"
"SPECIAL FEATURES AT THE REGENT"
"Pirates capture the audience's fancy at the Regent Theatre today. More than 60 persons appear in the stage presentation, the most elaborate which Harry B. Burcher has yet devised at this theatre.
The main setting is the deck of a Spanish Galleon, and on this the performers appear as a band of pirates. Courtney Ford as a pirate chief leads a male chorus of twenty. The sixteen ballet girls are fancifully attired as an auxiliary force. The stage effects include the illusion of a storm at sea.
 J. Allen Kenyon has painted the scenery for this presentation in which the Regent Stage Band under Ernest G. Mitchell provide some bright moments.
William Clark, the dancing violinist and Freddie Hodges, specialty dancer, help to give variety to the entertainment."

Review: (Herald, May 6, 1929)
 "DESERT ATMOSPHERE AT THE REGENT"
"...novelty touches characterise Harry Burcher's sketch "Beaux Arts". The musicians in their Latin Quarter attire, infuse the appropriate air of Bohemianism which makes the entertainment most enjoyable. It is a light and airy trifle, admirably carried out.
The dancing of the Regent Ballet in sympathy with the character of the sketch, is an artistic offering. Stella La Monde's songs too, are most acceptable and complete the sketch.

Review:  (The Herald, May 11, 1929)
"...pictures of the heats and final of the Head of the River race.
...stage presentation given a topical interest. The scene represents the deck of a houseboat on the Yarra. In this attractive setting the Regatta Revels are performed by the Regent Ballet in boating and bathing attire. The Regent Stage Band in a special jazz interlude, and the Fallow twins in a pleasing song and dance turn."
